Offspring

Staring: Art Hindle, Pollyanna McIntosh, Spencer List, & Tommy Nelson
Rating: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars

This is one movie that is not for the faint of heart. It is a creepy, twisted, blood bath, that holds absolutly nothing back...and that's what makes it awesome! From the creators of the Evil Dead trilogy, and the masters of the modern horror movie, Ghost House Underground. Offspring is everything you could want in a horror movie. Not just blood and gore, but a truly scary story. This movie has it all and I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of it! Fans of horror and gore get this movie!

Young Sherlock Holmes

Staring: Nicholas Rowe, Alan Cox, & Sophie Ward
Rating: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

I am by no means a fan of Sherlock Holmes, but being that this was a collaboration between Spielberg, Columbus, & Levinson, I had to give it a shot. They make it clear from the beginning that everything is speculation, nothing comes from the works of Arthur Conan Doyle and that the whole premise of the movie is as a tribute, one I think he would have been very happy with. The story is a classic Holmes mystery and showing them as kids instead of well established investigators gave the story a whole new life. It's a fresh perspective on Sherlock Holmes that I really enjoyed.

X-Men

Staring: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, & Halle Berry
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I'd actually never seen the first x-men movie. It definatly filled in the holes I had from the other movies. In general, I am not a fan of superhero movies, they are ridiculous and usually don't have any kind of a decent plot, this movie is different. The story is about fighting discrimination, something many of us can easily relate to...and while the special effects are way over the top, they are most definatly unique. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine makes the movie and his interplay with cyclops was genius. The second one is still my favorite, but this one was still really good. I highly recommend both it and the rest of the trilogy.

Brick

Staring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas, Noah Fleiss, & Emilie de Ravin
Rating: 1 out of 5 Stars

This movie has a great cast, a seemingly good story, and a ton of eye candy, but even with all that it has going for it. It was just weird. I didn't understand the code, the slang, or the point. I was looking forward to this one and I was incredibly dissapointed. This is just one strange ass movie that you can avoid.

Spirit Trap

Staring: Billie Piper & Luke Mably
Rating: 1 1/2 out of 5 Stars

This movie is a first for me! ...ya see I have never been so bored during a horror movie, that I actually fell asleep. I kept waiting and waiting for something to happen and when it did, I didn't give a shit. This movie was SO bad, that I don't think the actors were interested in it.

Year One

Staring: Jack Black & Michael Cera
Rating: 1/2 out of 5 stars

I hate Jack Black! He is a talentless hack who bables on an on like a bafoon. I really have no idea why I wanted to see this horrible piece of shit, but it's clearly one of the worst movies I've seen all year. The babeling is endless, the charachters are whiny little bitches, and the plot of the movie is just stupid. I was kind of a hoping a dinosaur would come along and eat these two idiots! This is two hours of my life I wish I could have back.

12 Rounds

Staring: John Cena & Ashley Scott
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

If this movie didn't star a WWE Superstar, a lot more people would have seen this! It's a beat the clock thriller from the director of Die Hard and was a million times better than I thought it would be. John Cena definatly shows a marked improvement from The Marine, no doubt thanks to Renny Harlin. Yes, it's a WWE film, staring a WWE wrestler, but it's one hell of an action thriller!

Traitor

Staring: Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, & Said Taghmaoui
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Traitor is a truly can't miss movie, that gives you a perspective on terrorism from both sides. Don Cheadle continues to be one of the best and most underrated actors in hollywood. This movie was amazing! It wasn't just another shoot 'em up action nightmare. It has a great story, I really connected with the charachters, and I kept finding myself surprised at every turn, not knowing what was coming next.

3000 Miles

Staring: Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, & Tony Hawk
Rating: 1 out of 5 stars

I love Bam and I'm a big fan of Jackass. I usually love how simplistically genius these guys are when it comes to comedy, and I was expecting to see the same juvenile chaos in the world's most famous race, boy was I wrong! This is just a very dull view of the race, it's history, and the cars in it. It was poorly directed, probably shot by one of their drunken friends, and boring as hell! AVOID!

Paranormal Activity

Staring: Katie Featherstone & Micah Sloat
Rating: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars

I'll be a man and admit it... This movie made me jump quite a few times and left me thinking about it long after it was over. I have been a Horror fan for a long time and that's a very unsual reaction for me. Some people didn't like how it was filmed on camcorders or how it started out slowly, but not me, I thought this was a great movie and new territory for the genre. This is one they'll be talking about for a while.

The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys

Staring: Jodie Foster, Kieran Culkin, Emile Hirsch, & Vincent D'Onofrio
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This movie was recommended to me by someone and I was honestly a little hesitant to watch it. It's a young cast, with a first time director, and lets face it, nuns and altar boys? ...it was actually a GREAT movie. It was the perfect balance of comedy and drama, that kept you interested throughout. There were also flashes of animation that just added to the story and made it even better. It's hard to describe this movie without spoilers, but I would definatly suggest you take a chance and check it out!

In The Electric Mist

Staring: Tommy Lee Jones, John Goodman, Mary Steenburgen, & Buddy Guy
Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 stars

This movie has a terrific cast! Tommy Lee Jones is one of my favorite actors and I was really looking forward to this, but I quickly saw why all the big companies past on it and why it went direct to video. The story was bland, rushed, and predictable.

Amusement

Staring: Katheryn Winnick, Laura Breckenridge, & Jessica Lucas
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

I made a big mistake with this one. I decided to judge the DVD by it's cover and while it looked like it would be awesomely cheezy, it wasn't. It was just weird and kinda boring. Whatever credibility this movie had was definatly destroyed by the horrible ending. I wouldn't waste my time with this if i were you.

Stay Alive

Staring: Milo Ventimiglia, Frankie Muniz, & Sophia Bush
Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 stars

Stay Alive was decent, it was a unique story but still fairly predictable. It lacked a lot of the eye candy and cheezy jokes you expect in this type of film. I think the director was expecting people to take this seriously, but it's far from being the exorcist.

The Killer Next Door

Staring: Billy Dee Williams, Tobin Bell, & Brian Austin Green
Rating: 0 out of 5 stars

Ok... What the HELL was that!?! Seriously, not only did someone spend time writing this piece of shit, but they actually got some recognizable names to star in it!? The description sounded great, but the movie was not. I really have to question the compenticy of the company that would make such a thing. AVOID!

Fahrenheit 9/11

Staring: Michael Moore
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

It's clear that Michael Moore often has his own agenda, but I'm sure if he could prove any of the things he says in this film, alot of people would be in prison. Some things are VERY interesting and really makes you think, while other stuff is complete bull shit meant to serve his personal agenda, never the less, it was entertaining and it does gives you something to think about.

Uncle Sam

Staring: Issac Hayes, P.J. Soles, & Chris Ogden
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

Awesomely cheezy! This is how B-Movie's should be done. There is a small simple story that has just enough so that you can follow along and laugh at the stupidity and the cheezy special effects.

House of 1000 Corpses

Staring: Sid Haig, Karen Black, & Sheri Moon-Zombie
Rating: 1 out of 5 stars

I have one word to describe this movie AWFUL! It doesn't even compare to it's sequel, The Devil's Rejects. This is just a weird, drugged out, gore fest, that makes absolutly no sense. It's not even funny, It's a complete waste of time.

Snow In August

Staring: Peter Tambakis, Stephen Rea, & Lolita Davidovich
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

An old Hebrew fairy tales comes to life through the eyes of a 10 year old Irish-Catholic boy. The movie was a little slow, but decent enough. If you only take one thing away from this movie, let it be that there is a thin line between love and hate. We aren't born with either, both are taught to others through our own actions.

Prefontaine

Staring: Jared Leto
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

While there seem to be many different opinions on weather or not the facts in the film are accurate, the fact remains that this was a fantastic movie that perfectly illustrated the drive and determination that made Pre a national icon. Jared Leto is amazing as well. Based on his other works, to be honest, I didn't think he was a good choice to play Steve Prefontaine, but he really surprised me and does an oscar worthy job with this role. Prefontaine is inspirational and a great tribute to a great man. I would definatly suggest seeing it!

The Dilemma

Staring: Vince Vaughn & Kevin James
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

The Dilemma was OK. I have never really liked Vince Vaughn, but he was actually very good in it. The movie wasn't particularly funny, but it had a good storyline. I found it very basic and much longer than it had to be. It is what it is, just your typical ordinary romantic comedy. Not really my thing...

Takers

Staring: Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, & Hayden Christensen
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Takers is a great story, with lots of great action and chase scenes. Matt Dillon, who I usually can't stand is actually very good. I was throughly entertained, however there some big holes in the story and at many points, It felt familiar. It was as thou I was watching a PG-13 rated version of The Fast & The Furious without Vin Diesel. Still, overall it was a pretty good movie and I'd recommend it, especially to my fellow action junkies!

Speed 2: Cruise Control

Staring: Sandra Bullock, Jason Patric, & Willem Dafoe
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

Speed 2 is the dumbest, most ridiculous movie imaginable, with terrible performances, non-sensical storylines, ridiculous paralells, and of course Jason Patric, who is as believable an action star as any WWE Superstar. Hey Geiger... If they fired you for being sick, why not just sue them instead... haven't you ever seen Philadelphia?

Family Guy: Partial Terms of Endearment

Staring: Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis, & Seth Green
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

This is by far one of the best family guy episodes ever! I can see why they couldn't air it on TV, but it was really one of the best things they've done in a long time! This DVD also includes Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show which was also pretty good, I'd highly suggest checking this out!

Taken

Staring: Dakota Fanning, Steve Burton, & Cathrine Dent
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I expected this to be a can't miss! An 8 part series about alien abduction, spanning 5 decades, from Steven Spielberg! How could it be anything but a Sci-Fi lovers dream, right? Wrong! Taken is pretty entertaining but its certainly not at the level I would expect a mini-series from Spielberg to be. Some parts are great, while others drag on. Some charachters are great, while others are insufferable. The story isn't very consistant and Dakaota Fanning as the narrorator is annoying as hell! If you have a lot of spare time and don't mind sifting through all the garbage, there is some good stuff here, but I can honestly say I am dissapointed.

Saw 3D: The Final Chapter

Staring: Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, & Costas Mandylor
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Sometimes in order to make something fresh and exciting again, you have to go back to the beginning, and thats exactly what Saw did. While I enjoyed all the movies, this one has less flashbacks, and is as creepy than ever before. If you are not on the edge of your seat for this one, there is something wrong with you! The final chapter as they claim it to be, might have been the best Saw film yet and the way they chose to end it will just blow your mind all over again. Even if you gave up after the first two or three, SEE THIS MOVIE!

Sand Serpents

Staring: Jason Gedrick
Rating: 0 out of 5 stars

You ever feel like just sitting down and watching something simple and entertaining that you don't really have to think about? Well this isn't it. This was shit. It is every bit as stupid and ridiculous as it looks. When it comes to Sand Serpents, you can definatly judge it by its cover.

Solar Crisis

Staring: Tim Matheson, Charlton Heston, & Corin Nemec
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

I'm a huge sci-fi fan and I love Jack Palance and Corky Nemec, but this movie was a snooze fest. The question I have for this talented cast is what the hell were you thinking?! Granted the effects are 20 years old, but the dialouge is laughable, it takes much to long to get into, and to be honest, it was just boring. I kept waiting for something to happen and when it did, I really didn't give a shit. Sorry, but this was terrible.

Ghost Adventures

Staring: Zak Bagans
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I love the show Ghost Adventures every Friday night on the Travel Channel, but this isn't the show. This is the documentary that started it all, and it's definatly not as good as the tv show. They picked up a lot of compelling evidence and the end will just blow your mind. Even if you're not a fan or don't believe in this sorta thing, I'd give it shot and see what you think of it.

Point Break

Staring: Keanu Reeves & Patrick Swayze
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

The ultimate "dude" movie!!! It's you're typical strange early 90's movie, but what a lot of people who don't give it a chance don't realize is, it's a great movie! Parts of it were a little predictable, but that's over shadowed by it's amazing chase and fight scenes, not to mention a great storyline. Keanu Reeves really was much better than people gave him credit for earlier on in his career.

Out of Time

Staring: Denzel Washington & Eva Mendes
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Out of Time is entertaining but painfully predictable. 20 minutes into the movie i knew exactly what was going on. Chief Whitlock is not your typical Denzel role, and while he played it the best that he could, I just feel like it didn't suit him very well. The location of the movie didn't make a whole lot of sense, and that wasn't the only thing. Why would a detective from Miami and his ex-wife be investigating a crime an hour away in some small town? Miami PD isn't the FBI. The movie has a lot of plot holes and everything that happens is fairly obvious. It's entertaining, but it's not going to blow anyone away.

Storm Warning

Staring: Robert Taylor & Nadia Fares
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

This movie is a strange, sick, twisted, gore fest, that tries to be another Devil's Rejects but sadly misses the mark. It has it's funny moments and the ending was great, but until that point, it just drags on and on. If theres nothing else to watch, go for it otherwise... don't bother.

Requiem For A Dream

Staring: Ellen Burstyn & Jared Leto
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

Weird, confusing, and pointless. I really don't understand what all the hype is about. Yes, Ellen Burstyn performance was unbelievable, but the movie was just terrible. Honestly, I know it has a huge cult following, but wtf is so special about it? Please someone fill me in...What am I missing?

Chaos

Staring: Jason Statham, Ryan Phillippe, & Wesley Snipes
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Jason Statham is right on top of the action genre mountain and this film once again shows why! Great movie! Everything you want in an action flick, lots of twist and turns, bullets, and f words flying around, and it was really awesome to see Statham and Snipes passing on their knowledge to the next generation of action star aka Ryan Phillipee.

John Tucker Must Die

Staring: Jesse Metcalfe
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Ok, let me say this... John Tucker is no prize, neither is the guy who played him. They could have done so much more and found 1000 better actors to play him. It was'nt a bad movie. It would have been better had the actors actually been high school students and not mid-late 20s actors/actresses. The story was simple, the acting was decent, and it had its funny moment, I definatly loved your fashion sense John haha. It's worth checking out, but far from oscar worthy.

The Box

Staring: Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, & Frank Langella
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Wonderfully weird and imaginative. This is a sci-fi cult classic that fell under the radar, but it is a really great film. I heard a lot of people bash this thing, but this movie is about much more than a box and a button. If you're not a sci-fi fan and not used to this type of film, it might be a bit confusing, but stay with it. I think it's well worth it.

Regarding Henry

Staring: Harrison Ford & Annette Bening
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

It's a great story about how some people are so stubborn and set in their ways and how nothing can change them except for maybe a bullet in the head. The story was brillent, all be it a bit slow at times. Harrison Ford is amazing as Henry and rivals pretty much everything else hes done in his long career. It's not action packed, it is'nt particularly funny, but it's just a damn good story!

Toy Soldiers

Staring: Sean Astin
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

An absolutley awesome movie! It's your typical 90's movie. A great storyline, lots of action, comedy, and plenty of wonderful cheeziness! This is a can't miss movie full of everything from action to comedy to drama and so on. Definatly worth watching!

Clipping Adam

Staring: Evan Peters & Kevin Sorbo
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Clipping Adam is a very moving story about a 14 years old boy dealing with an incredible loss. One that no one can truly understand unless they've gone through it themselves. The story takes place 2 years after the accident and shows a still very greifing family headed in the wrong direction. Adam on the verge of high school, needs to turn a corner, and attempts to do so with the help of a new best friend and a priest. It did'nt sound very appealing to me either, but I decided to give it a shot and I am sure glad I did. Evan Peters is terrific in his debut performance. This movie is heart felt, genuine, and real. It showed me the best way to get over your problems, no matter how big or small is with the help of others. Hiding away and drinking, or not cutting your hair is never the answer. A truly inspiration film, with no hollywood influence or unwanted storylines. I highly recommend it!

Man On Fire

Staring: Denzel Washington & Dakota Fanning
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

This was a good story, and they could have done so much more with it. I found this movie to be quite slow and boring. The charachter development is terrible, a lot of the acting is poor, and the cinematography, just makes things that much more confusing. I love Denzel Washington and when he teams with Tony Scott, it's usually magic, but they missed the mark in a big way on this one.

The Book of Eli

Staring: Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, & Mila Kunis
Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 stars

This movie had the right idea, but left far to many unanswered questions. I was expecting a lot more based on the previews and descriptions, but I was left with a film that was not unique. Denzel Washington was amazing as usual, but sadly, overall, The Book of Eli wasn't anything special. Just another tale about the world will end one day and reveal what savage beasts we truly are.

Maverick

Staring: Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, & James Garner
Rating: 3 out of 5 Stars

I'd actually never seen this Richard Donner directed, western about a con man before. To be honest, it had everything you'd expect to see in a Richard Donner film, including a terrific cameo by Danny Glover. It was a little predictable at times, but the ending was classic. I also loved the scenery and custome design. Overall it was a pretty good movie. If I had one desire, it would be that the movie was a little more edgy, but other than that it was a great film. Mel Gibson was very likable, ashame that's only the case on the big screen huh?

Sacrifice

Staring: Michael Madsen
Rating: 1/2 out of 5 stars

Seldom have I seen a movie, where the acting was so bad, that it actually made me laugh out loud. The story made no sense, the "tough guy" the movie is focused on was a bore, and the police were so dumb, that it was comical. This is one movie you can most definatly avoid!

Smokin' Aces

Staring: Jeremy Piven & Ryan Reynolds
Rating: 1 out of 5 stars

This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There is no real storyline. It's all just cursing and gunfire. The performances are bland, the scenes are vile, and the movie is one big waste of time, that appears to have been written by a hyper-active 12 year old. Avoid this movie like the plauge!

Paranormal Activity 2

Staring: Brian Boland, Molly Ephraim, & Sprague Grayden
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I don't have much to say about this one. It wasn't bad, A little more hokier than the first, definatly not as scary, but still pretty entertaining for what it was.

A Perfect Getaway

Staring: Timothy Olyphant & Milla Jovovich
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

This is not a bad movie, however the big twist wasn't such a surprise. It was actually really good and seemed like something different until the the last 45 minutes or so, then it got a bit more clique. Overall, fairly entertaining and worth the time.

Popular: Season 1

Staring: Leslie Bibb & Carly Pope
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This is the first production from the creator of GLEE. In a sense it's GLEE with an attitude and without the music. This show is about the popular and outcast kids in high school and how their worlds come together when a parent from each side marry each other. It's funny, edgy, and most of all real. It is very well written and launched several careers. Their are charachters that everyone can relate to and storylines for everyone ranging from funny to emotional, I highly recommend this show!

King Arthur

Staring: Clive Owen & Keira Knightley
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

It was really cool to see King Arthur from a more historical viewpoint, rather than the mythological one thats been done and done. The movie had its moments, but overall it was pretty dull. I can't recommend something that put me to sleep.
